Choosing a color for your deck or fence can be a hard decision. No one can make that decision for you, but you can narrow down some of the choices.
- Look at how much weather your wood gets. UV rays can be hard on any surface. If your wood gets a lot of sun darker tones will last longer than lighter tones.
- The second thing to look at is what appeals to you. Do you want it to blend with your home exterior? You may want to stand out against the surroundings.
- The first thing to consider is sealer types. Different types of sealers require various processes when resealing and wear different ways than others. That information can be found in the blog section under sealer types or by asking any questions that you may have.
- Keep in mind that if you are not happy with the color choice that you make, it does not have to be permanent. Next time you have your deck done you can always change your mind to a different color. If you’re stuck between a darker and lighter color it is always a good idea to go with the lighter color. If you change your mind up the road it is easier and more cost effective to go to a darker tone than it is to go to a lighter tone.
These are some of the colors from the sealer we recommend. There are variations in color due to age and species of the wood and how the picture was taken.
Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have.
